Donyale McRae was born on the upper east side of Manhattan and whose long professional career had taken him to Milan, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Switzerland, Munich, Tunisia, Hamburg and the United Kingdom
Donyale McRae is a Department head of Makeup and sometimes Key and always a team player.. He began this position in 1994 heading up a sketch comedy show ,much like SNL , for NBC called “The Apollo Comedy hour” which ran 3 seasons and then moving onto Comedy Central designing and staffing Hit shows like 5 seasons of “Project Runway for Bravo and the 6th season move to Lifetime Network.. “Exit 57 “The Big gay sketch show” for logo and the award winning “Chappelle Show” designing and executing both Makeup and Hair for all episodes unassisted
He’s also requested to work with many other union crews like Key for Showtime’s Billions….and other shows and features like 5 seasons of “Boardwalk Empire” Noah, “The Post” “The wolf of wall street” The pilot for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and many current projects.
Always loving to work with an ensemble cast like “Sherri” on Lifetime and “Donny” on USA network “Doctor Who” for the BBC and pilots for “difficult People” and “Strangers with Candy” and “Eye Candy” stand out with unflappable dedication and leadership without affectation.

“Donyale love for Period and contemporary work began whilst working for Italian Vogue for many years in Italy before moving to Paris to work with many other magazines and commercials.
Ever the trend setter in Music videos, he designed Makeup and Hair for Tina Turner for “what’s love got to do with it” and went on to do most, if not all of the leading recording artist.. These included Anita Baker, Will Smith, Kiss, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, New kids on the block, Debbie Gibson, Prince, Samatha Fox, White Snake, Regina Belle, John Meyer, skid row, Aerosmith, Loretta Lynn, Tanya Tucker, George Benson and many others.

Among the highlights of his career was the 74th and 70th Academy Awards with Oscar Winning Director Errol Morris. Doing Makeup over the course of 3 days with several Hundred nominees to complete the Opening for the Oscars telecast…Stars like Helen Mirren, Clint Eastwood, Peter O’Toole and many others.
